Cynthia Lee is an estate planning attorney and Bay Area native who has practiced law since 2001. Her practice encompasses estate planning, trust administration, and probate, helping individuals and families plan for the future and navigate the responsibilities that follow the loss of a loved one.

Cynthia brings sound judgment and a calm, considered approach to matters that are both legally complex and deeply personal. She provides clear, practical counsel tailored to each client’s circumstances, helping families establish plans that reflect their wishes and guiding trustees and executors through the administration process. Her work combines meticulous attention to detail with respect for the people and relationships at the heart of each matter.

Cynthia earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law. She is a member of WealthCounsel, a national network of estate planning attorneys.

Outside her practice, Cynthia enjoys cheering on her two children at the hockey rink, traveling for their games, and discovering local food wherever she goes. She also enjoys dramas from around the world and learning new languages on Duolingo—though her vocabulary sometimes develops faster than her conversational skills.

David brings nearly a decade of customer service experience to his work supporting client communications and administrative matters for ATI’s estate planning and trust administration practice. Before joining ATI, he managed front-end operations at two restaurants and helped train service teams—experience that taught him the value of listening closely, staying organized, and making people feel welcome.

David enjoys the personal side of his work: getting to know clients, understanding what they need, and helping make the process easier to navigate. He recognizes that clients are often handling unfamiliar and meaningful responsibilities, and he takes satisfaction in helping them feel comfortable and keeping the details on track.

Outside the office, David enjoys a good game of badminton, discovering restaurants, and traveling. His interest in food has stayed with him beyond his restaurant days, and exploring somewhere new often means finding something good to eat along the way.

American Trust Institute began with a simple belief: thoughtful planning starts with understanding.

Its roots reach back to the 1980s, when educational seminars on living trusts brought families together in San Francisco and San Jose. In many of the Asian communities these seminars served, conversations about death and inheritance were often uncomfortable or left unspoken. Education offered a gentle way to begin.

The seminars combined practical information with humor and an appreciation for the concerns families carried. They made a sensitive subject more approachable, helping people consider how planning could care for loved ones, honor their wishes, and ease the responsibilities of the next generation.

Today, ATI serves individuals and families through estate planning, trust administration, and probate. Attorney Cynthia Lee, who has practiced law since 2001, brings sound judgment and a calm, considered approach to the firm’s work.

At the heart of ATI’s practice is an understanding that every plan involves people—their relationships, their responsibilities, and their hopes for those they love. With clear, practical counsel and careful attention to detail, the firm helps clients prepare for the future and navigate life’s transitions with greater confidence.
